The Overlords (1977)
He sails across a timeless sky
Like the dragon that follows the rising sun
Over the mountains the birds fly
Singing the lyrics of a war undone
The mystery of the animals that never died
Who lived on to see the air disappear
Blackened lights faded away and children cried
Seeking answers they would never hear
Secret dynasties whose rulers failed in using others
Misty fogs now enveloping Buddhist statues that slowly erode
The strange people who could have never been brothers
Walking to nowhere and following a forgotten road
The road has ended in a world unknown to all
A silent dream has become a vicious nightmare
Tempests rage and voices of spirits continuously call
Those flattering replies of those who do not care
Dragons cross your mountainous terrain
They fly across the skies and observe the rising sun
And some stranger brings an unwanted rain
To a valley where the overlord is the only one.
The overlords will die as the wingless birds fall
Tigers eat our useless men leaving the people nothing to eat
And it is now that our mighty ruler fails to call
For he has been consumed by men who craved his meat
