Evening is Forever (1976)
Take the knife from within your coat
And raise it up to his face
Tell him with an unquestionable quote
I've been waiting to take you're place
He sees the instrument you undoubtedly hold
Fearing the brilliancy it captures in the setting sun
May it be brass, silver or even gold
It is completely irrelevant to the unwilling one
When the implement begins to change its static position
Diverting its course toward the natural instigator
He senses sounds that times before he would never listen
A conscience experience observed much later
It approaches and penetrates the soul
A directed metallic object of unknown origin
The motive contained it reaches a specific goal
To commit and purposely for the result of sin
He is falling to the wanton ground
It receives his body with great force
There is a short but distinct sound
Returning the substance to its eventual source
You stand to see your unresponsive friend
Lying in the same type of element
And reaching down to remove what you send
Proving to all what you actually meant
Did the perpetrator not think himself a little insane
To do such a thing as he has just done
And feel completely impassive in worthless gain
Look again. There is no longer a setting sun.
