From a Morning Dream (1976)
For as you walk along common roads and find paradise within your midst
Remember to observe the statues that adorn the garden
But most of all the lettering that is engraved upon them
Seeing the lettering and stepping into porch like shrines
Should reveal the secrets that plague your mind
Observe the dark boy that greets you
For he is the serpent of the garden
That leads and seduces you to his level
And then runs away from the garden into the common world
As you run to not lose sight of that which you desire
Remember that he stops at your abode and you invite him in
Hoping that you two alone will be able to
Share a deep inner secret of mutual love
He leaves not only to be seductive
But the fact that he sees intruders
Who are invading his secret paradise
